Grand Halle Event Manager
Part-Time | Independent Contractor | $14.00/hour
About the Opportunity
The Grand Halle is looking for a friendly, dependable, and personable Event Manager to help create a welcoming and memorable experience for guests hosting weddings, celebrations, and other special events at our venue.
The Event Manager serves as the on-site representative of the Grand Halle during scheduled events. You’ll welcome guests, work alongside event vendors, help things run smoothly throughout the evening, and make sure the building is properly cared for and secured when the event concludes.
What You’ll Do
Welcome & Guest Experience
- Open the Grand Halle and prepare the facility for the event.
- Greet guests and provide directions or assistance as needed.
- Serve as a friendly, helpful representative of the Grand Halle throughout the event.
- Assist with the event’s “Grand Entrance” for wedding parties, guests of honor, or other featured guests.
- Respond to reasonable guest needs and questions whenever possible.
Event & Vendor Support
- Serve as an on-site point of contact for event vendors and the rental party.
- Assist vendors with guest communications and questions.
- Help relocate tables and chairs when needed.
- Help ensure the event environment remains functional and orderly.
- Take photographs and share appropriate event moments on the Grand Halle’s social media channels as needed.
End-of-Event Responsibilities
- Secure the card box and monitor the bar area after it has closed for the evening.
- Empty leftover drinks into the designated beverage bucket.
- Collect trash and bring trash cans into the Catering Room.
- Bring signs and traffic cones in from around the building.
- Turn off lights and ensure the Grand Halle is properly secured at the conclusion of the event.
Facility Care
- Keep restroom towel and toilet paper dispensers stocked.
- Address simple restroom issues when possible.
- Provide garbage bags to vendors as needed.
- Mop wet spots and address other minor cleanup needs during an event.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests.
Important Note on Responsibilities
- The Event Manager is not responsible for event security or monitoring alcohol service. These responsibilities remain with the renter hosting the event.
- If a significant problem arises involving security or alcohol service, the Event Manager will communicate the concern to the rental party and, if the issue persists, contact emergency services as appropriate.
- The Event Manager reports questions, concerns, or other significant issues to the General Manager.
Ideal Candidates Should Be:
- Friendly, welcoming, and comfortable interacting with a wide variety of people.
- Dependable and committed to the events they agree to work.
- Calm and resourceful when unexpected situations arise.
- Comfortable communicating with guests, vendors, and event hosts.
- Able to work independently and recognize what needs to be done during the event.
- Willing to pitch in with both guest-facing responsibilities and light custodial tasks.
- Comfortable taking occasional photographs and making social media posts.
- Able to safely perform the physical tasks associated with the position, including moving chairs and tables, taking out trash, and light cleaning.
Previous event, hospitality, customer service, or venue experience is helpful but not required. The right attitude, reliability, and willingness to help are just as important. Training will be provided.
